Dry Needling during pregnancy
Today I met with a client at UAMS Women's Center to witness some amazing pregnancy support provided by the skilled Physical Therapists they have on staff. My client was experiencing lower backpain and her PT suggested Dry Needling for relief.
Dry Needling can be super beneficial for moms who experience lower back pain, sciatica or pelvic pain. Tiny filament needles are used to relieve trigger points, which are tense bands of muscle.
This is just one perk of seeing a Pelvic Floor therapist during pregnancy! Pelvic floor therapy can help prepare your body for labor. It can help reduce the risk of perianal tears, reduce the length of labor, improve pelvic floor flexibility and increase mobility.
I left the session today feeling like EVERY pregnant mom would benefit from this type of personalized care.
