The services provided for the midwifery fee are as follows:

  • Nutritional counseling
  • Accurate dating of pregnancy via fertility charts, conception dates.....
  • Email, texting, phone, and postal communication throughout pregnancy
  • Prenatal care to include antenatal care as follows: once monthly until 28 weeks, then bi-weekly until 36 weeks; and then weekly until delivery-all visits in office.
  • glucose and hemoglobin testing
  • ultrasound referral
  • urine testing
  • GBS testing
  • Ordering of clinical laboratory testing
  • 24/7 on call availability of me from 36 weeks until delivery
  • Labor support and homebirth
  • Midwife and birth team for homebirth delivery
  • Birth tub for laboring and birth if desired
  • fetal heart tone assessment with doppler
  • birth stool, birth ball, rebozo, & birth ropes
  • three types of medications to stop heavy bleeding after birthing
  • herbal tinctures
  • oxygen for newborn if necessary
  • assessment of blood sugar of newborn if necessary
  • ability to give mom intravenous fluids if she needs them
  • Newborn examination  (it is your responsibility to make arrangements for long term pediatric/physician care for your infant).
  • Breastfeeding education and support
  • Vitamin K prophylaxis
  • Eye ointment prophylaxis
  • Suturing, if needed for 1st & 2nd & partial 3rd degree tears
  • Postpartum visits in your home for mom and baby within 24-72 hours after delivery.  Referral to pediatrician for PKU testing, hearing screen, and circumcision.  Additional office visits are optional at 1 week, 2 weeks, & 6 weeks
  • Filling out of any needed forms, as allowed/required by your employer
  • Filing birth certificate/social security card with TN state
  • Any referrals or transfer of care  
  • Rh Antibody Testing & RhoGAM Treatment: In the case of an Rh-negative mother.  RhoGAM administration/shot is an extra charge and is determined by the cost of the medication at the time of use.

 

Clients must pay separately for the following/ or use their insurance:

  • Birth supplies, such as towels (see supply list) 
  • Laboratory blood testing (insurance will pay; or approximately $100)
  • GBS screening (insurance will pay; or approximately $60)
  • Initial Newborn Metabolic Screen (PKU test at pediatrician office) 
  • Ultrasounds at the clients’ chosen facility
  • Newborn Hearing Screen (at pediatrician office)
  • Prescriptions & Non-Prescription medications or herbal supplements needed for the mother and/or infant related to the present pregnancy and postpartum care
  • Emergency expenses that may include transportation, emergency room and physician expenses, surgery and medications; or any standard hospital, clinical, physician, nursing, or doula expenses related to the present pregnancy & postpartum care; or referrals to any other providers should complications and/or transport arises
  • Placenta encapsulation (optional)

 

 

Payment of Services:  If payment is made after 35 weeks (only with permission from Tori) an additional fee of $100.00 per month late fee will apply. Tori reserves right to terminate your care for failure to pay.  Total fee: $3500. Below is a breakdown of suggested payment schedule.

Birth With Hope Midwifery DOES NOT provide the following services but will refer to appropriate care provider:

  • Ultrasound
  • Prescribing pain med drugs or narcotics before, during or after the birth
  • Delivery by forceps or vacuum
  • epidurals
  • cesarean deliveries
  • Suturing of a severe laceration
  • Newborn Hearing Screening
  • newborn Immunizations
  • PKU testing
  • Flu Vaccinations
  • circumcision
  • placenta encapsulation
