What type of dedication am I promised?
As a midwife, I work very hard. My commitment to you and your baby is almost a year long: preconception counseling, 9 months of prenatal care, labor/birth, and 6 weeks of postpartum and newborn care. I am on call for you 24/7 from your 36th week of pregnancy until you deliver. I do not leave town from your 36th week through your 42nd week of pregnancy.
When is payment expected?
Fees are broken in monthly payments over the course of prenatal care. We are to be paid in full by 35 weeks of pregnancy. An initial deposit/retainer fee is expected at the time of contracting our services, as we are blocking a slot off for your birth. The initial deposit is $500.00, and it is not refundable. We do not accept insurance. We do provide verification for families who file with Samaritans.
What services are included in your fee?
The global fee includes routine pregnancy check-ups; use of our birth tub; birth supplies/birth kit; attendance of your labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum period; home visit(s) during the first week postpartum; two additional postpartum office visits (optional); dedicated availability 24 hours/7 days a week from your 36th week of pregnancy through first week postpartum; and birth certificate filing information.
What is NOT covered by the midwifery fee?
1) Rhogam for Rh- mothers (mothers with a blood type of A-, B-, AB-, or O-)
2) Blood tests
3) Physician office visits (mandatory to have a physician)
4) Ultrasounds
What is your refund policy?
If you transfer care out of our practice before labor begins (if you move, if you have a medical need for hospital birth, or if you 'change your mind' and desire a hospitalized birth), we will itemize fees for each service we performed. A refund will be issued, minus fees for each service we provided, and minus the non-refundable $500.00 deposit.
You will be charged according to this itemized breakdown:

$150.00 email consultation/advice (global, not individual)
$150.00 phone consultation/advice (global, not individual)
$500.00 non-refundable deposit
If a transfer to a hospital occurs during labor, no refund will be issued. We will accompany you to the hospital to provide emotional support if a transfer in labor is necessary. We are able to bring our birth tub into ECM hospital, as it has been pre-approved by hospital administration.
