The global fee for midwifery services is:
$3,000.00 for women who have had a prior vaginal birth
$3,500.00 for a VBAC
$3,500 for a first time mom
When is payment expected?
Fees are broken in monthly payments over the course of prenatal care. We are to be paid in full by 35 weeks of pregnancy. An initial deposit/retainer fee is expected at the time of contracting our services, as we are blocking a slot off for your birth. The initial deposit is $500.00, and it is not refundable. We do not accept insurance.
What services are included in your fee?
The global fee includes routine prenatal office visits; attendance of your labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum period; home visit(s) during the first week postpartum; two additional postpartum office visits (optional); and dedicated availability 24 hours/7 days a week from your 36th week of pregnancy through first week postpartum.
Are there any additional fees?
Additional expenses may include lab work, medications such as Rhogam or antibiotics, and travel fees for 'false alarms' (50 cents per mile).
Initial lab work is approximately $150 out of pocket; insurance covers lab work. An OB can perform your lab work as well. Additional lab testing during pregnancy is determined according to each client's individual needs. Lab tests are mandatory for determining low risk.
The global fee does not include ultrasounds or physician consultations.
What is your refund policy?
If you transfer care out of our practice before labor begins (if you move, if you have a medical need for hospital birth, or if you 'change your mind' and desire a hospitalized birth), we will itemize fees for each service we performed. A refund will be issued, minus fees for each service we provided, and minus the non-refundable $500.00 deposit.
You will be charged according to this itemized breakdown:
$200.00 initial prenatal
$75.00 general prenatal
$150.00 email and/or phone consultation (global, not individual)
$500.00 non-refundable deposit
If a transfer to a hospital occurs during labor, no refund will be issued. We will accompany you to the hospital if a transfer in labor is necessary.
If you have a medical need for a hospital birth, or if you 'change your mind' and desire a hospitalized birth, you have the option of transferring into our monitrice service. Under these circumstances, a midwife will attend your hospital birth to provide labor support. The charge for this service is $2000.00. If your paid balance is more than $2,000, a refund will be made to you to settle the difference.
